To supplement Teaching Unprepared Students and encourage campus discussion, the Vincennes University K. Gabriel Committee has created a blog for faculty and staff.  Links to resources mentioned in and related to Teaching Unprepared Students are provided through the site.  Leave your comments, questions, and advice for other related resources, and be sure to visit weekly for new updates and discussions after the workshop.

Dr. Kathleen Gabriel and Teaching Unprepared Students

Dr. Gabriel was a high school social science teacher before she became a resource specialist for students with learning disabilities.  Once she moved to the university setting, she developed an academic support program for at-risk and unprepared college students and became a Faculty Development Specialist at the University of Arizona.  During January’s professional development workshop, Dr. Gabriel will provide VU faculty and staff with opportunities for discussion and hands-on demonstrations for creating conditions that will enable at-risk and unprepared students to develop academically without sacrificing high standards and expectations.
